The Retail sector is diverse and includes auto and recreational vehicle dealerships, specialty boutiques, electronics stores and everything between. Retailing is simply the selling of goods and services directly to consumers.
To date, MCR Services has over sixty Retail projects for 25+ customers. These projects include basic tenant improvements at new strip malls or existing shopping centers, complete construction of stand- alone retail facilities and also major storefront improvements or expansions. Early in our history, we performed Construction Management services and Project Scheduling and oversight for several Sun TV & Appliance Centers, Incredible Universe stores and other retailer establishments. We have renovated or constructed strip-malls and shopping centers.
Whatever the size of a Retail project, they all have one basic concern: If the operations need to continue during construction, then scheduling must minimize the impact upon the customers and staff to permit the store to bring in business profitably. If the space is new, then planned openings become “supreme” milestones. Any unforeseen situations or customer extras have to be quickly evaluated and handled to meet the occupancy date.
Some shopping centers have special covenants so that demolition work and construction does not hamper traffic, create safety problems or detract from the overall appearance of the center or the neighborhood or interfere with other stores.
