    The Community Market

The Community market includes religious and charitable organizations and public service groups. These are our most rewarding projects.

Some of this work has been purely charitable and we’ve simply donated our time and resources to assist their efforts, such as the projects we did for Milo-Grogan Boys & Girls Club, located near our headquarters at Cleveland & East 5th. Others are competitively bid projects or true Design-Build relationships for long-duration developments. These latter projects often take a couple of years before all the funding is in place and construction can actually start.

Our portfolio includes over sixty Community projects performed to date.

MCR Services performs the full range of our services in this market—from Project Scheduling and Management to full-service General Contracting. Our very first project, in fact, was to provide scheduling services for the renovation of the Northwood & High Building near OSU.

Although most of this work is in the home counties of Central Ohio, we were given the opportunity to work on the New Orleans Convention Center in 1996. Since then, our customers have included The Capital Area Humane Society, Lutheran Social Services, The Community of Christ, the Village of Powell and many other clients.

Efficient communications are vital in such a construction environment and help guarantee that work in the Community market is done in advance of deadlines and within budget. As a result, we have developed relationships over the years with several of our Community clients, on multiple projects.

    Public Service

Projects That Demand Personal Involvement—and Provide Personal Rewards

These projects are all about the relationships—relationships between Charitable organizations, their funding sources, and contractors and community supporters. Because of government and charitable oversight, and the hurdles involved in making sure that the project dollars make sense, all project participants have to be truly committed to the construction process. This development process can take two years or more to reach the construction phase.

MCR Services has also contributed time, labor and materials at no cost to certain special community projects in our Milo-Grogan neighborhood and elsewhere.

Our Public Service projects heavily involve our ownership team at a truly personal level. These are among our most rewarding projects—for all Project Team Members involved.

Some of these projects are featured in the links below:
