Kevin has spearheaded and completed many successful projects during his career, including work at The Battelle Memorial Institute, The Columbus Zoo and the expansion of the Westerville Public Library. But this doesn’t mean that there are never challenging “experiences” that crop up.
One of Kevin’s more interesting moments was while expanding the Columbus Zoo’s West African Forest Gorilla Exhibit. The zookeepers needed new cages for their “silverback” (mature male) gorillas. Kevin and his team had to enter the existing cages, with strict instructions from the handlers to keep quiet, never make eye contact with the gorillas and keep their hands firmly in their pockets at all times. As he walked through—surrounded by gorillas—he noticed a lone hard hat in the dominant male’s cage and thought to himself: “that contractor obviously didn’t listen….”
Kevin and his wife, Stanislava, live with their three children, Evelyn, Kathryn and Luke, in Westerville, with Bindi and Boo, their cats. Stanislava has her own general law practice and hails from Yugloslavia. She is, by all accounts, a very good cook. (Kevin enjoys her meals way too much, but since he is also an avid jogger, this helps keep him in fighting shape.)
He is an accomplished amateur photographer and loves listening to classical music.
