Steve is a hands-on guy with a lot of field experience. He is as happy running the equipment and doing the carpentry work as he is running the whole show. When he’s not on the jobsite, he can often be found doing as many home projects as his family can line up. He also restores antiques.
He is a model truck and car enthusiast and crafts many of his creations “the hard way”—even machining the brass and metal components from scratch. Steve is a long-time contributing editor for Scale Auto Enthusiast and Model Cars magazines.
Steve and his wife, Cassie, live in Delaware. The Hurt’s have three boys, Nicholas, Cameron and Dominic. They have a “wiener dog” named Oscar (as in “Oscar-Mayer”), a cat with “way too many names” (Gizmo) and a hermit crab population that the kids look after. They maintain a busy social life and all three of their boys are active in sports in Buckeye Valley Public Schools.
