Delaware City Schools is a forward-thinking school district in a rapidly-growing part of Central Ohio. They needed a facility maintain their fleet of school buses and they needed it fast.
Jegs High-Performance Automotive had an ideal site for the facility on Liberty Road and The City of Delaware had property nearby that would was more suited to Jegs and their needs, so a “property switch” was arranged by The Crown Group, who brought MCR to the project in the early planning stages.
Challenges
Accelerated Schedule & Land Swap
With the Land-Swap hurdles—which had to be cleared through several authorities, MCR needed to clean up the site & erect and finish the building in record time:
Accelerated schedule for both design and construction work allowed for a five (5) month completion
Additional soils testing permitted optimum placement on site
A good working relationship with the building authorities and the property owners helped ease the project through zoning hurdles
Features
A Durable, Functional Building for Immediate Use

Overall development of the seven (7) acre site
All-metal construction for ease for durability and ease of maintenance
Results
Design-Build Meets Exact Needs
This project, a milestone for MCR, was our first completed Construction Service project. Prior to this, we had specialized in Renovation & Management work.
It was also our first Design-Build project. Working with the client and design team from the start gave the client exactly what they needed and made for a rewarding experience for all parties.
This was our first project with Delaware City Schools and they are very happy with their new facility.
