We collaborated with the owner and his architect from the beginning of this project. The objective was to design an expansion to a historic home that would give the owner the space he desired taking into consideration his budget and the potential return on his investment.
Challenges
High End Challenges
While creating a seamless transition from the existing part of the house to the addition, consideration needed to be granted to the owner who continued to reside in the space while we completed the expansion and renovation of the home.
Install a rubber roof with a slate mansard to preserve architectural authenticity
Install structural steel beams to provide an open floor plan and support existing brick walls above
