Ohio Health is a healthcare pioneer. They were among the first to make Emergency Services and Patient Care user-friendly for patients and their families, staff & visiting specialists with private exam rooms and “Living Room” details. They have mandated the same look and feel for all subsequent hospital projects—including the IT support staff offices for the Riverside Hospital complex.
In 2008, they awarded us the competitive bid for the IT Offices, located beneath the Childcare Center on Thomas Lane at Riverside Hospital. One of the main reasons for the award was the strong Project Team we had assembled, many of whom had worked with us on previous Ohio Health projects.
Challenges
Working within Hospital Restrictions
We had to greatly accelerate the project schedule while restricting work hours, in addition to other hospital conditions:
Fast-Tracked project schedule put extra demands on the team
Restricted working hours so as to not to disturb “Nap Time” upstairs from 11:00 AM until 3:00 PM
Hospital security, safety and infectious disease protocols
Strict insurance requirements
Underground health issues, including radon gas abatement

New State-of-the-Art Offices
The new office layout, created by Design Collective Architecture, gives the IT staff and visitors an upscale office suite.
The finished lower-level suite will have an open feeling and brings the formerly “distributed” professionals together into one central location. Their new home integrates all their equipment and utilities, so they can better focus on their work.
As a result, Ohio Health can continue its leadership position within the medical community for top-notch patient care.
